Türk Telekom implements Raynet and USU technology for successful Software Asset Management
February 18th, 2021 | Press release
In an award-winning Software Asset Management (SAM) project, Türk Telekom made a smooth switch from manual Excel lists to automated compliance reports thanks to the successful implementation of Technology Asset Management solutions from Raynet and USU Software Asset Management.
“After surveying the market and looking at different vendors, we found that RayVentory was the most valuable solution to automate our IT asset inventory management processes.”, says Alaattin Çetin, Technology Governance Group Manager at Türk Telekom.
As part of its transformation into an integrated service provider with strong focus on customer orientation, Türk Telekom is relying on digital processes and state-of-the-art technologies. This also applies to the group-wide identification and economic use of software licenses (Technology Asset Inventory and Software Asset Management).
The project was designed for more than 20,000 clients and approximately 12,000 servers. Over 1,600 software license items from approximately 140 vendors had to be inventoried and cataloged and the contractual and actual usage had to be compared transparently to ensure optimal economic use of the software. RayVentory was used for the exact collection of hardware, software, and cloud data. Thanks to the flexible and automated inventory methods, highest data quality and accuracy could be achieved across the entire decentralized IT infrastructure in the shortest possible time.
“We are convinced that Raynet and USU Software Asset Management will enable us to stay consistent with our vision that, as being a driving force in the digital transformation of Turkey, Türk Telekom’s IT Landscape should be managed based on accurate and robust IT asset data to be flexible and embrace the future.”
Alaattin Çetin, Technology Governance Group Manager at Türk Telekom
A glance at the cost advantages alone shows that professional license management pays off for Türk Telekom: Within one year, three times the cost of the entire SAM project was saved. Türk Telekom received the international SAMS Europe Award for the outstanding project in fall 2020.
